After a lengthy trial in the San Diego Superior Court the jury returned a verdict in favor of the firm’s client on March 20, 2023. Plaintiffs alleged breach of contract, negligence and fraud arising from extensive tenant improvements to a condominium in downtown San Diego. After two and a half weeks of evidence plaintiffs asked the jury to award more than $350,000 for breach of contract and “a large” award for the alleged fraud. Following deliberation the jury returned its verdict finding no negligence or fraud by the defendant. While the jury did find a breach of contract it awarded plaintiff a total of $32,500 while awarding the firm’s client $68,565 on its cross-complaint for unpaid fees on the project.
